FAQ
Are there "Family" PTSA memberships?
National PTA & CA State PTA recognize one membership per one vote. At Shivela we follow the same policy.
Where does my membership money go?
Here's the breakdown ... Membership is $7.00 for the 2013/14 school year. Shivela PTSA receives $2.50. The remaining $4.50 is divided and sent to Murrieta Council, 23rd District, CA State PTA and National PTA. Each group has responsibilities to utilize the funds for the benefit of all children.
Can students hold a Board position?
Yes!! We want students! Students are the voice to what is really needed in the association. Students, as a paid PTSA member can hold Executive Board, Standing Committee or Chair positions. We also encourage them to participate on committee's!
Who can have a PTSA membership?
Anyone! PTSA is not just for Moms. "Family" has changed over the decades and the needs of our students have also. Parents, Guardians, Grandparents, Brothers/Sisters, Community Business Owners, etc. are all welcome!
