WHAT WE DO

The number-one reason to join the Parent Teacher Student Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more advantages. Here are just a few:

  • Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

  • Discover Great Resources. The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

  • Tap into a Network. PTA functions provide opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, build rapport and discuss parenting issues that are on your mind.

  • Watch yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTA, you gain valuable experiences and personal confidence. It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause.

  • Speak Up. Because PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions and more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

  • Help Your Child Succeed. PTA fosters parent involvement. Parent involvement has been proven by three decades of research to be the greatest predictor of student success.

  • Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping to make positive changes.

  • Local PTAs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, social events – all vital to a school’s success.

  • Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.

Membership ... Why join?
Volunteering "out of the box"

Inclusion is a commitment to involve the entire school community in planning, as well as enjoying, PTA programs and activities. Bringing in many different views is the key to building a robust and meaningful PTA presence in your community.

Diversity .. When all aspects of the community are represented, all voices will be heard, and PTA will be an effective voice for ALL children.

As advocates for children, PTA is most effective when we:

  • Celebrate our diversity.

  • Identify and break down barriers in our association that discourage people or minimize their involvement.

  • Create and work together on common goals.

  • Include in our active membership a representation of all ethnic, cultural, religious, economic and social groups in the community.

Think about it ...

  1. Do you have a specialty skill to share?

  2. Are you available to help with projects from home?

  3. Do you have contacts that can offer a service/donate time …community members or someone famous even?

  4. Do you speak other languages?

Did you know that the simple act of becoming a PTSA member is an act of volunteerism?  Thanks for being a member!

We are excited for the 2013/14 school year!  We are working hard to bring new Parent & Family programs that may include:  Social Media awareness, Bullying, Drug Prevention, Safety 101 in the Home, Common Core Standards information, Academic Family Fun nights and more!

We look forward to your feedback on the programs and encourage you to submit ideas for new programs!

We truly believe that the success of our association is a strong partnership between Parents - Teachers - Students AND our Community Partners!

We can't do it without YOU!
